Hannibal American Legion Post 1552, recieved it's charter on October 24,1947.

It was named in honor three Hannibal soldiers.

Richard Prior,was killed in action in Italy on February 29,1944.

He recieved The Silver Star and Purple heart.

T/SGT. Benjamin Stock, On his 14th Mission over Europe was shot

down over Italy. None of the crew's body's were ever recovered.

Pfc.William Stock was killed in action May 1944.

 

Post 1552 First Commander was Karl S. Kellogg.

1St. Vice Commander was Clive Mead.

 

Currently Hannibal American Legion has 138 paid up, members, 5 World War II veterans.

The oldest member of 68 years is John Palesch.
